9 Reasons We’re Excited about Canada Reopening
by Geoffrey Ravoire, Luxury Travel Advisor & Marketing Manager
The moment we’ve long awaited is here: Fully vaccinated US travelers can finally cross the Canada border again, accompanied by their unvaccinated 12-year-old or younger children (who need to undergo testing on the first and eighth day of their trip).
Before arrival, all US travelers are required to download the ArriveCAN app and fill out a health form within 72 hours of arrival. A molecular COVID-19 test is still required; antigen tests are not accepted.

With this, let’s take a look at some of our favorite places to explore once again in Canada.
QUEBEC CITY
One of the most unique cities in North America, Quebec City fascinates with its architecture, culture, and art scene. A smaller town, Quebec City is perfect for a short getaway or to be paired with some of the astonishing countryside right outside the city.
FALL FOLIAGE
Be it in Nova Scotia, on Lake Tremblant, or Vancouver Island, Canada offers fantastic opportunities to take in the vibrant colors of fall between mid-September and late October.
WHISTLER
We can’t wait for a new winter season in Whistler, enjoying the largest ski area in North America. From luxury hotels to ski-in/ski-out condos or private estates, Whistler has it all. Tired of skiing the same terrain all week? Heli-skiing options from Whistler are endless.
THE BEARS OF CHURCHILL
Each fall, the world’s largest concentration of polar bears convenes on the western edge of the Hudson Bay, waiting for the ice to form and their winter seal-hunting season to begin. Small groups, guided by expert naturalist guides, have the opportunity to view the bears — and, when the conditions are right, the magnificent Northern Lights.
CLAYOQUOT WILDERNESS LODGE
An ancient landscape carved by the ocean, the west coast of British Columbia’s Vancouver Island is richly bio diverse. In this dramatic setting, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge promises seemingly endless adventures from exhilarating heli-flights and remote hiking to rewarding wildlife-spotting and yoga.
VICTORIA, BC
The capital of British Columbia, Victoria is a charming city at the southern tip of Vancouver Island. just a short seaplane flight from Vancouver, Victoria is a world of its own, and home to two of Canada’s most famous institutions: Tea at the Empress, and the striking Butchart Gardens.
BANFF NATIONAL PARK
The oldest national park in Canada, Banff and its colorful lakes, towering forests and peaks, and iconic chateau hotels, are favorites among hikers, golfers, and instagramers.
NEWFOUNDLAND
A collection of islands at the eastern tip of Canada (the easternmost part of North America, to be exact), Newfoundland is rich in nature and human discoveries, scenic towns, gorgeous hikes, and colorful folklore await. No trip to Newfoundland is complete without a stay at Fogo Island Inn. If Newfoundland sounds too wild for you, neighboring Nova Scotia is just as stunning and a tad easier to get to (and around).
CITY LIFE IN TORONTO, MONTREAL, AND VANCOUVER
Three booming cities, Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver boast a rich cultural and food scene, within easy access from most American airports. Stay downtown for a couple of nights before heading out of both cities to enjoy wineries and the great outdoors.
