Globetrotting with a Gourmand: Los Cabos

I recently returned from a 10-day trip to Los Cabos and can't stop talking about how great the food was! There were so many healthy entrees with multiple gluten-free options at each restaurant, along with delicious, locally-sourced ingredients at so many places. Here are three of my favorite dining experiences in Los Cabos.

My favorite place was Cocina del Mar, the picturesque cliffside restaurant at Auberge Collection’s Esperanza. Low-lit lanterns line the entrance to the lounge and set the tone for the evening before you're escorted down a set of stairs leading to a beautiful outside terrace jutting out over the sea. True, we had the most romantic table for two at the corner vantage point, but it was the exceptional service and food that made it our favorite. Seafood is prominently featured on the menu, alongside a well-known hand-crafted cocktail menu using local spirits – the Guava with a Salted Citrus foam was divine! A DJ was playing great music, not too loud but with just enough beat, and the vibe on the terrace was full of energy. This is the place to go for delicious food with a view alongside the crashing waves – I guarantee you won't regret it.

Limon is one of the restaurants at the new Four Seasons, and it was one of my favorites! I was quite impressed with all the food at the resort, but Limon is the one I remember most fondly. The restaurant is located in a lemon grove and has a rustic feel to it, almost as if you are dining in the desert. The venue is entirely outdoors, including an open-air kitchen, where the menu highlights local food, including Mexican barbacoa for slow-cooked meat. The outside setting is intimate, with cozy fires lit throughout, and provides an ambiance you won't forget.

Flora Farms is still going strong – the bar was packed, the band was playing, and everyone having a good time. The shops were open late into the evening, and there was so much going on. This is a place to enjoy great farm-to-table food (or pizza) and a beautifully presented cocktail. Take in the ambiance and just enjoy yourself. The food was delicious, and the vibe was evenly matched.
