Over the past few weeks, we have started receiving a high number of travel requests, and it seems to be continuing (thank you!). We are confident this is just the beginning. Once vaccines become more available, everyone will start making summer plans. By that time it may be too late. 

The time to book summer travel is now, and we’d like to help you keep ahead of the pack. 

We crafted the below reminders based on our daily experiences and conversations with clients, hotels, private jet companies, and travel industry partners alike.

Domestic travel is still the most in-demand this summer

We know you are ready to break out of your bubble and travel. We also understand that it takes time to rebuild confidence, fly long-haul, and cross oceans. This summer, we predict that domestic travel will be at the top of most people’s wish lists. Some appreciate the proximity, some the fact that you can drive back home “should something happen,” and others cannot leave the US because of restrictions imposed by their children’s schools. Bottom line: we have never seen domestic hotels, resorts, or villa rentals this busy this far out.

Limited international destinations available

It’s easy for the world to feel like your oyster when you have 195 countries to choose from. This year is a different story. Once you factor in the countries that are officially open to US travelers, the countries that we consider open and inviting, and climate, you soon realize that summer plans are limited to a (still exciting) selection of destinations including the Caribbean, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Belize, Mexico, Turkey, the Maldives, and Africa among others. 

Socially-distant offerings remain the most popular

As travel resumes, demand is concentrated on remote experiences, beautiful beaches, and nature experiences or parks. Travelers still crave the outdoors and journeys that take them away from the crowd, where everyone can feel comfortable and safe.

By planning now, we can maximize your chances of finding availability on your preferred dates, so you don’t have to choose between your trip and a prior social or work commitment.
