The Time for Egypt is Now

by André Koester and Stephanie Fisher, Luxury Travel Advisors

Egypt is back! We are happy to report that after more than five years of political instability, intrepid travelers are slowly returning to Egypt as the country’s political situation seems to be stabilizing. Egypt offers no shortage of incredible history, antiquities, experiences, and adventures. Last year, two Huffman Travel Luxury Advisors visited Egypt with their families. Read what André and Stephanie loved about their adventures.

André
- Insider Tip: Egypt is a tipping culture, so small bills are like gold. Do your best to stock up on them whenever you have the chance.
- Favorite Food/Meal: My favorite meal was a BBQ lunch on our Nile Cruise. We had delicious grilled meats and tasty salads watching the banks of the Nile float by.
- Favorite Site: My favorite site was Abu Simbel. You approach the site and it looks totally nondescript, but then you come around the corner and you see these absolutely huge, stunning statues overlooking Lake Nasser. It is mind-boggling that statues of that size were created more than 3,200 years ago.
- Packing Tips: Comfortable walking shoes are a must! Don’t underestimate the heat and strength of the sun — any time of year you must pack a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen.

- Shopping Tip: Always wear reflective glasses when in the market — if the vendors cannot see your eyes focused on an item they will leave you alone. And for the ladies, keep your shoulders covered, no need for extra attention!
- Favorite Site: Nefertari’s Tomb — the images are just as vibrant today without any restoration — it is a wow.
- Touring Tips: Carry some wet wipes with you — those pyramids are dusty!
