My 13-year old twin sons, Sam and James, and I were looking for something fun and different to do for their winter break, and we came up with the idea of exploring northern Norway. Sleeping in an ice hotel for a night was what first drew us to Norway, but we had so many other great adventures that we decided it was one of the best trips we’ve taken.

My kids love animals and active adventure, so I thought Alaska was a good choice for our summer vacation. I did not regret that decision; in fact, I may have been the one who loved it most.

Egypt is back! We are happy to report that after more than five years of political instability, intrepid travelers are slowly returning to Egypt as the country’s political situation seems to be stabilizing. Shawna Huffman Owen and I have been friends for years and like to mix business and pleasure by traveling to check out new destinations for our clients. This past winter, we spent four nights in Berlin and loved it, despite the fact that locals kept telling us we were there at the worst time of year. We had a wonderful time in frigid temperatures, so I can only imagine how fantastic the city is when the beer gardens are open and everyone is out enjoying the sunshine and breezes from the River Spree.

My husband and I take a week-long trip alone every July. It’s very good for the marriage given the fact that we have four young sons. This year, we decided to explore some parts of Italy we’d never been to: Lake Garda and the Dolomite Mountains.
