Shawna Huffman Owen

Shawna has been passionate about global education and experiences since learning Turkish alongside English for the first four years of her life as a child in Istanbul, Turkey. After receiving her BA from Colby College in Art History and French, spending a semester in Florence and earning her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, Shawna spent 15 years as a management consultant. In 2008, Shawna decided to shift gears and focus on travel as a profession. 

Shawna holds a seat on the elite advisory boards of Travel + Leisure Magazine, Abercrombie & Kent, AMAN, the Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, and The Marriott Luxury Group.

Shawna specializes in bespoke travel planning for multi-generational families. As a family owned and operated business, Huffman Travel consists of a team of professionals who focus on ‘family first’ to design travel experiences that ensure every detail is thoughtfully considered. 

Shawna, her husband Jay, and their two children reside in Florida and Chicago. Shawna is an active member of many civic and professional organizations in both places.

Hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Climbing into King Tut’s tomb in Luxor, Bargain hunting in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. Flying over 12 Apostles on the Great Ocean Road in Australia. Driving through Cuba in vintage convertibles. Drinking rosé in St Barths. 

Bucket List:
Completing the Cotswolds Way (100 mile walk from Chipping Campden to the steps of Bath Abbey). Cruising the Mekong Delta on the Aqua Mekong. Barge trip through Burgundy. Dogsledding in Lapland.
